Fox and Friends Waterfall

Fox and Friends Waterfall Card by Ida Chan
Fox and Friends Waterfall Card by Ida ChanThis month's 3D technique club features a fun fold. This technique was requested by one of our members a few months ago. I will be featuring the fun waterfall fold.
As part of my retiring stamp set list countdown, I'm trying to use as many retiring stamps as possible. This project we will be using the Fox and Friends set as well as Under the Stars set.

Do you have a favourite stamp set that is retiring?

My 3D technique club is tonight at 7:30pm - 9:30pm. This is a bit of a late posting but I'd like to let you know that I can do classes upon request. If you'd like to make this month's 3D projects, let me know and I can schedule an evening of crafting just for you. Fee for this class is $12 or free if you join the 8 month 3D club.

70% off discounts and more retiring items

Stampin' Up! Retiring products 2012

Just released is the list of retiring Stampin' Up! accessories. Some items are discounted at 70% off and will be available while supplies last until May 31, 2012.

You can place an order directly through me or go to my website and have it shipped right to your door!
When you look at the retired accessories list, you'll note that all of our Stampin' Pads are listed.

This is for two reasons: (1) Craft Stampin' Pads will now only be available in black and white; and (2) we are introducing a new Firm Foam pad in our Classic Stampin' Pads with the 2012-2013 annual catalog. The Firm Foam pads offer better ink pad longetivity and ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images. Fear not that these colors will be retiring!
In addition, please note the following about the new catalog:
  • Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)
  • 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered
  • 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections

The gift and card project for the month of May will be creating this cute hot air balloon popart along with a coordinating card! Hot air balloons have become such a cute and fun trend recently and I've finally hopped on their bandwagon.

I hope you can join my excitement!
The coordinating card we will making is a swap I received from Monica Chan last year from convention. Thank you for a wonderful swap card Monica!

Growing Green Retiring Stamp Set

With today's release of the Stampin' Up! Stamp Set Retiring List, I start today as my countdown to bid farewell to these sets. To start the clock off here is a card I crafted today using 3 retiring sets.

I watercolored the leaves and the rose with Stampin' Up! Watercolor crayons.

Today I tried to use as many retired stampsets in one card as I can. For this card, I used the following stamp sets:
Growing Green
Fifth Avenue Floral
Style Beautiful

The retiring list has an extensive list of stamp sets that will be sold until May 30, 2012. Get them now before they are gone forever.

Stampin' Up! Wedding invitations

I have received several requests to post wedding invitation card samples. Today I am posting just a partial sample of a wedding invitation proof I handmade earlier this year for a couple from Vancouver.

The best thing to put on wedding invitations, in my opinion is lots of texture! There's no better way of doing this by using the Big Shot embossing folders. Embossing adds depth and details to cards.

On another note: Stampin' Up! is releasing the retiring stampset list early from this year onwards. I will be posting this list on April 15. Be sure to check out this list because it shows all the stampsets that will be retiring after June 30. Don't miss out those stampsets that's been on your wishlist for the last little while. Once it's gone, it's gone forever!

If you are interested in customized Stampin' Up! invitations, visit my wedding page here to see how I can help you.

Save the date: Open House May 19

I'll be having a catalog retiring Open House event on May 19 from 10am-1pm. I'll be featuring things on the retiring list and accessories that are priced to be cleared. Don't miss out this huge event!

Scrapbooking with Stampin' Up! is fun!

Beveled Windowpane Stampin' Up! Scrapbook by Ida Chan, VancouverHere is my final handmade project of the 4 Iron Stampers challenge that I was invited to complete in March. To be honest, this is in fact my first 12"x12" scrapbook page I've ever done! I scrapbook in a very unique or some may say odd way. So all this time I had avoided scrapbooking using Stampin' Up! products. I was quite nervous about the layout of the scrapbook page that I left this project until I had completed the other 3 projects.

Maze Game Stampin' Up! Scrapbook by Ida Chan, VancouverAs a result, I had to use all the pieces that were unused in the package of Iron Stampers supplies. This included the Maze Game piece and a large Beveled Windowpane. The more I stared at the pieces, the more I realized that this is indeed how I craft my scrapbooks. I'm a pack rat and when I scrapbook, I need to put the pieces of my pack rat habits into the page. This Iron Stampers scrapbook page definitely highlights my habits. I finally learned that scrapbooking with Stampin' Up! products is definitely fun and it doesn't matter what your style is.

And here is my display of the scrapbook page at the bi-monthly Stampin' Up! demonstrator meeting. The results of the challenge (4 projects)? I WON! I won by just one vote! I didn't think my scrapbook page would pull thru, but I received a lot of great feedback on it. From this project, I promised myself to start scrapbooking with Stampin' Up! products more often.
